My Projects

This sections contains personal projects that I have performed over the years to develop my skills over and above the projects that were performed at our clients. Although my job title was more along the lines of 'financial enginner', I more see myself as an expeditionary data scientist. I pursue projects that cover personal interest and the latest practices that serve as a knowledge base and repository for continued learning. That being said the bulk of my client work revolved around large-scale, strategic projects, with our main tool being SQL, and that remains my area of expertise from a professional standpoint. As such, I have pursued many small, personal projects to expand my knowledge of different coding platforms and subject matter, all the while focusing on building a robust skillset based on first principles. Many of these continue to remain as "work-in-progress" projects and are updated frequently.

About Me

I have a formal education in economics, receiving an MComm Economics from Stellenbosch University in 2018. Thereafter I spent almost five years at one of South Africa's top consulting firm, specialising in Financial Engineering while working on large strategic change projects. I have recently completed my MBA studies from the Said Business School at University of Oxford where I was proviledged enough to immerse myself in advanced subject matter ranging from Strategy and Finance, to Negotiations and Impact Investing. I have a passion for nature and sustainability, nurtured from growing up at our family farm in the Cederberg. My love for natural spaces has heavily influenced who I am today, which at my core is a person who seeks to preserve our natural world for generations to come.
